Advanced Production Milling

Class Length: 16 hours

Syllabus

This 2 day course is intended to introduce the student to Mastercam's more advanced features, creating surface models, and solid modeling. Students will practice creating tool paths on surfaced parts that they create and verify their tool paths.
The class will include lectures and programming demonstrations to prepare students to be able to successfully complete the guided tutorials that demonstrate Mastercam's advanced milling.

Topics include:

Surface and Solid modeling overview - Surface types, Ruled, Revolved
Solid types - Solid, Revolved, Shell
Model Manipulation - Checking "Normals" on surfaces. Solid from surfaces
Creating curves on all edges.
Surface tool paths, Rough - Parallel Rough, Surface Rough Pocket
Surface tool paths, Finish - Finish Parallel, Parallel Steep, Project Blend,
Finish Project, Finish Left Over, Flow Line, Contour
Tool Path Modifiers - Cut Depths, Gap Settings, Advanced

Prerequisite: Cimtech's "Basic Production Milling".
